In November 2021 local artists Pauline Dawkins-White and Lynda Appleby curated the first Donhead St Andrew Art Exhibition which lasted for four days and was held in the newly created community space within Donhead St Andrew Church. Fifteen professional and semi professional artists showed their work in a setting that everyone agreed was stunning. Sculpture, painting, collage and exquisite craft work were on show.
More than three hundred visitors came to the exhibition and we had very good coverage from the media through ‘This is Alfred’ Radio Station and ‘The Blackmoor Vale Magazine’. Sales were excellent and the ‘gallery commission’ raised £1200 for the Trussell Trust and Donhead St Andrew Church.
All the artists would like to be involved again and we hope that more will join the next exhibition which we hope to make and annual event.
The organisers wish to thank the members of the community who helped with publicity and the provision of refreshments , our graphic designer Christopher Hazelwood , those who came to the private view and who visited throughout the show and most importantly our artists who created such a wonderful display of work.
