Visiting Constable Country to teach at Dedham Hall is one of the high lights of my working year.
Dedham, the birthplace of John Constable is situated on the River Stour on the Essex/Suffolk border. From this beautiful village one drifts directly into Constable’s landscapes. All around are the views that he painted as you walk across the fields to Flatford, the scene of the famous ’Haywain’ and ‘Willy Lott’s Cottage’.
There is much more to a visit to Dedham Hall than just steeping yourself in John Constable however.
Jim and Wendy who run the venue are wonderful hosts. They provide accommodation and food that cannot be rivalled in an art course situation. The house gives comfort and tranquillity and the fourteenth century barn, that is the studio, provides the perfect working space for any artist. You can see why I consider myself priviledged to be included in their list of tutors.
This year I will be running my seven day course from Saturday 14th – Saturday 21st May. Please find out more about this exceptional venue on www.dedhamhall.co.uk
I’d love to meet up with you there.
